“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy
sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
Thích Nhất Hạnh
There are times that it is difficult
for us to get to the bottom of the whys and wherefores of people’s feelings and
emotions. Really we don’t close stages, in our lives, we simply run away from
them. We are like that cloud caught in the sky all full of water vapour
floating in the atmosphere that really darkens or encloses another. We feel
incapable of releasing this innocent liquid. It would transform us like a
dragonfly sailing in the sky if it had been spilled in the right place and of
course at the right time… We have always been taught that our feelings are the
part of the human being opposite to intelligence or reason. What a sword in the
stone! They are only thought of as intuition or confused, irrational soothsaying.
Nothing could be further from the truth, the concepts of freedom, sincerity,
confidence and why not…simplicity are where we should try to find the point of
life. We are always able to walk in someone else’s shoes without any reward
needed… I like to write, to write to you, it is an exercise that frees me, it
takes me to worlds which at the moment of being described are simply the hidden
essentials of my own life. In many cases it is what is missing to fulfil my
being … As a sail in the wind slowly filling, knowing the seas already sailed
and this, handwritten in a manuscript which will change with my future aims
into my inheritance. All of this with no need for prizes, trophies or cups… or
perhaps yes, why not? Possibly my award will be to arrive at death having lived
a full life, in fact this is my only desire…
